PRACTICE AREAS
Trespasz Law Offices, LLP (formerly Trespasz & Marquardt, LLP) provides legal counsel in the field of municipal finance. Specifically, we concentrate on the issuance of tax-exempt general obligation and revenue bond and note issues by municipalities, school districts, public authorities and other governmental issuers to finance municipal buildings, schools, sewer, water, solid waste and other infrastructure facilities. The firm has been granted inclusion in The Bond Buyer's Municipal Marketplace directory of municipal finance attorneys (the "Red Book") and, therefore is accorded the status of "Nationally Recognized Bond Counsel." Since March of 1999 we have served as either bond counsel or underwriter's counsel on over $5 Billion in financings relating to projects from Long Island to Ogdensburg.
An integral component of Trespasz Law Offices, LLP is its federal tax practice. In addition to the review of financing transactions for compliance with the tax laws, we actively participate in the development of new financing structures and programs designed to meet the increasingly complex arbitrage, use of proceeds and "private use" regulations. In addition, we monitor the development and progress of federal tax legislation and regulations and prepare notices and analyses of current developments for our clients. We confer, when appropriate, with staff of the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service with respect to such legislation and regulations.
