HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCE

We have extensive experience as bond counsel and underwriter's counsel in financings through Industrial Development Agencies and the New York State Dormitory Authority for college and university facilities. For example, we have served as either bond counsel or underwriter's counsel in financings for Syracuse University, Le Moyne College, Ithaca College, Bard College, D'Youville College, Elmira College, Hartwick College, SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Canton, SUNY Oswego and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The firm has experience with project financings encompassing a wide variety of higher education financing structures, including traditional fixed-rate debt, variable rate debt and "on behalf of" (63-20) nonprofit corporation tax-exempt issues as well as tax-exempt debt. The facilities financed include a wide array of higher education capital improvements such as bookstores, sports and recreation centers, libraries, parking, student centers, student health centers, student housing, research and instructional facilities, data processing and telecommunications equipment.
