SCHOOL DISTRICT FINANCE
Trespasz Law Offices, LLP represents more than 50 school districts throughout Upstate New York, rendering legal opinions for tax anticipation note, revenue anticipation note, bond anticipation note and serial bond issues on a regular basis. In doing so, we work with schools district officials, their local counsel and financial advisors to structure and execute financings while maintaining regular correspondence with officials at the State Education Department. The firm regularly serves as bond counsel and underwriter's counsel to assist New York school districts with refunding existing debt to realign their debt service payments with the new assumed amortization schedules promulgated by the State Education Department. The firm has also become increasingly active in tax-exempt equipment lease financings, including financings of energy performance contracts for school districts and municipalities alike.
Centrally located in Syracuse, we are positioned to provide timely, convenient service to our school district clients. We make it our regular practice to personally attend board meetings to review and explain bond resolutions and related financing documentation. By virtue of budget controversies in Albany and the resulting financial burdens weighing on school districts throughout the State, the firm's education practice has grown significantly as a result of the firm's state-wide reputation as a leader in school district finance.
