MUNICIPAL FINANCE
Trespasz Law Offices, LLP regularly serves as bond counsel to counties, cities, towns and villages throughout Upstate New York for all types of general obligation financings, including long-term serial bonds, statutory installment bonds, tax and revenue anticipation notes and budget notes. As bond counsel, the firm supervises the authorization by issuers, drafts appropriate disclosure documents for prospective investors, performs all requisite tax analysis, and drafts and negotiates the documents needed to implement complex financing structures. The matters we handle for our bond counsel clients range from small, privately-placed bonds to large publicly-traded issues, sold both competitively and by negotiation. The firm is adept at implementing a wide range of financing techniques, including variable-rate debt, credit enhancement and assorted refinancing techniques.
In January 2002 the firm was appointed bond counsel to the City of Syracuse and its dependent City School District. Since its appointment, the firm has served as bond counsel on more than 80 different issues totaling over $1.3 billion for general City purposes and school renovation and cash-flow borrowings. We also have experience representing municipalities in financings through the United States Department of Agricultural Rural Development and the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation.
